2023 Visit Days will take place at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library and will also be delivered virtually via Zoom on four fall Fridays—join us in-person or remotely—your choice.

On each Friday, your 8:30 AM (EST) in-person or 8:45 AM (EST) virtual visit begins with a brief Welcome. Orientation will begin at 9:00 AM (EST).  Program Director Dr. Martin Brückner will offer an Introduction to the Program in-person and via Zoom, explaining the Program’s mission, methods, faculty, and application process. (pre-registration required). The introduction includes an Q & A session and ends at 9:50 AM

Following the welcome you have the choice to attend in-person or virtually our Thesis Seminar from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). During this class, prospective applicants will be able to observe two Second-Year Fellows present their thesis research (to date), followed by questions and comments by the Program faculty and Fellows. Each of the four Thesis Seminars will feature two different presenters and respondents; please feel free to attend as many sessions as you like (preregistration required). Thesis Seminar ends at 12:00 PM and includes a break between presenters.

For those visiting in-person, you may choose to arrange self-guided tours (Gardens open at 9:30 and Galleries open at 10:00) after the information session. You may also join current Fellows for lunch mid-day.

For those attending in-person and remotely, you may choose to join us for a Collections Tour after lunch; if joining the Collections Tour, your day will end at 4:15 PM (EST).

The University of Delaware’s educational mission is to prepare students to live in an increasingly interconnected and diverse world. To do so, we are committed to fostering a robust educational environment that supports critical thinking, free inquiry, and an understanding of diverse views and values. We see diversity as a core value and guiding principle for our educational mission and thus must work to make diversity an integral part of everyday life on campus. To this end, we take diversity to mean both the recognition and appreciation of the different backgrounds, values, and ideas of those who comprise our campus, as well as a commitment to ensuring that all people on our campus are treated according to principles of fairness, civility, dignity, and equity. We are committed to building an educational community that understands people from different backgrounds and economic circumstances, with different needs, and from diverse personal and philosophical beliefs. We want to make all people who are part of the University feel welcome and valued in campus life.  If you have any questions, please reach out to us at winterthurprogram@udel.edu

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
