October 16th Visit Day

Program Visit Days are an informative experience for prospective applicants considering admission to the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture. Preregistration is required.

In the past, Visit Days have typically taken place at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library on four fall Fridays. This year, all four Visit Days will be virtual and will be delivered via Zoom.

On each Friday, your virtual visit begins at 9:00 AM (EST) with an Information / Q & A session explaining the Program’s mission, methods, faculty, and application process. Program Director, Dr. Martin Brückner will share this introduction to the Program live, via Zoom, during each of the four Visit Days (preregistration required). 

Following the introduction to the Program, your virtual visit may also include attendance at Thesis Seminar at 10:15 AM (EST). During this class, prospective applicants will watch two second-year Fellows present their thesis research (to date), followed by questions and comments by the Program faculty and Fellows. Each of the four Thesis Seminars will feature two different presenters; please feel free to attend as many sessions as you like (preregistration required).
